Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource (HR) Manager for an apartment complex or property management company oversees the full employee lifecycle, with a focus on recruiting, developing, and retaining customer service and maintenance staff. This role ensures compliance with labor laws, manages employee relations, and oversees payroll and benefits administration. The HR Manager develops and enforces policies that support a productive, compliant, and positive workplace while maintaining high service standards across properties.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the sourcing, interviewing, and hiring of site staff (leasing agents, maintenance technicians, cleaners) and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
• Employee Relations & Compliance: Address employee grievances, resolve conflicts, and ensure compliance with local and federal labor laws.
• Performance Management: Monitor staff performance, conduct appraisals, and implement training and development programs to improve service quality.
• Payroll & Benefits Administration: Oversee compensation, benefits, and payroll to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payments.
• Policy Development: Create and enforce company policies, including health and safety protocols.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Qualification/Skills/Behavior, and Related Experiences.)
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• At least 5years of HR Management role.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, such as, for example, balancing staff schedules for multiple properties.
• Experience in property management or hospitality is often preferred.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
