Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Fresh & Perishable Supervisor is responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy for Fresh & Perishable categories, including Chinese products, in alignment with overall business objectives. This role oversees daily department operations, ensuring product quality, freshness, food safety compliance, and efficient inventory management across all stores.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
‒ Develop and Source execute the commercial strategy for Fresh & Perishable categories Plus Chinese products/Knowledge in alignment with overall business objectives.
‒ Supervise daily operations in perishable departments, including receiving, storage, stocking, rotation (using FIFO/FEFO methods), display, and merchandising of fresh and perishable products.
‒ Ensure product quality and freshness by inspecting incoming deliveries, conducting regular checks for spoilage or substandard items, removing damaged goods, and maintaining high standards throughout the supply chain.
‒ Manage inventory levels: order supplies from vendors, track stock, minimize shrink (waste/spoilage), and optimize ordering to balance availability with cost control.
‒ Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health/safety regulations, food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, health department rules), temperature controls for coolers/freezers,
‒ Understand Fresh produce, meat, and other perishables rarely come in uniform sizes, so systems must manage precise weights, prevent errors in pricing/inventory, and minimize waste (shrink/spoilage
‒ Lead category planning including product assortment, price, promotion schedules, and lifecycle management.
‒ Manage and negotiate with suppliers (Trade Term Agreement) to ensure best cost, supply reliability, and promotional support.
‒ Strong on Retail System & Admin Management (Independent on A System (from Set-up business)) system data accuracy
‒ Collaborate with finance, operations, and store teams to align procurement/P.O with business needs)
‒ Manage relationships with local distributors, importers, and regional brand principals
‒ Monitor category performance through sales, margin, inventory, and market data; recommend corrective actions where needed.
‒ Collaborate with supply chain and planning teams to ensure optimal stock levels ross all stores.
‒ Lead execution of marketing and promotional activities in coordination with marketing and store teams. Page 1 of 4
‒ Monitor inventory aging, out-of-stock risks, and excess stock to support inventory optimization.
‒ Ensure product compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality standards.
‒ Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, distributors, and partners to support long-term category development.
‒ Ensure supplier compliance with Cambodian laws and company standard.
‒ Prepare performance reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Qualification/Skills/Behavior, and Related Experiences)
‒ 3 years of experience in retail/FMCG commercial management, ideally with Fresh & Perishable categories.
‒ Strong commercial & Negotiate skill with proven track record in supplier negotiation and category performance management.
‒ Excellent knowledge of dairy and frozen product handling, seasonality, and supply chain dynamics.
‒ Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret sales, inventory, and financial data.
‒ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/retail management systems (e.g., SAP, Odoo, …).
‒ Detail-oriented with a strong customer and quality focus.
‒ Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
