Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage inventory of raw materials (lumber, logs, plywood, MDF, hardware), work-in-process, and finished wood products.
- Maintain accurate stock levels using inventory systems and physical stock counts.
- Ensure proper stock receiving, storage, issuing, and dispatch processes.
- Organize warehouse layout for efficient storage and movement of wood materials.
- Ensure proper handling, stacking, and preservation of wood to prevent damage, moisture, or pest issues.
- Conduct regular stock counts (daily, weekly, monthly, and annual).
- Investigate and report stock variances, shortages, damages, and slow-moving items.
- Prepare inventory reports, stock aging reports, and consumption analysis.
- Coordinate with Purchasing on material requirements and reorder levels.
- Work closely with Production to ensure material availability for production plans.
- Coordinate with Sales & Logistics for timely delivery of finished goods.
- Develop and enforce inventory control procedures and SOPs.
- Optimize inventory levels to reduce carrying cost and avoid stock-outs.
- Improve material flow and reduce wastage, scrap, and loss.
- Ensure warehouse compliance with safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
(Education, Qualification/Skills/Behavior, and Related Experiences)
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in stock control / inventory management in a wood factory, manufacturing, or construction materials industry.
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management.
- Understanding of wood materials handling and storage conditions.
- Good analytical and reporting skills.
- Proficient in inventory systems / ERP and MS Excel.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- English: Basic to good working proficiency.
