Job Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop automated test scripts for APIs
- Analyze API documentation (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI) to assess the quality of API design
- Simulate API exceptions and verify data validation and error handling
- Design, create, and execute test cases for RESTful APIs and WebSocket interfaces
- Validate request and response structure, data formats, status codes, and exception handling
- Perform integration and end-to-end testing of backend services
- Collaborate with the development team to understand API specifications and ensure compliance with
standards
- Use tools like Postman and Swagger for API validation
- Report defects clearly and in detail using Jira or similar defect tracking systems
- Ensure API security, including authentication and boundary value testing
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3 years of experience in API testing, with a preference for candidates familiar with complex and
high-availability systems.
- Proficient in HTTP, REST, JSON, and WebSocket communication protocols, as well as API
documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Familiar with API testing tools such as Postman, Newman, or similar.
- Ability to write API automation test scripts using JavaScript, Python, or Java (e.g., using frameworks like
RestAssured or SuperTest).
- Understanding of common authentication mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, and API Key.
- Familiar with defect tracking tools like Jira and test management platforms such as TestRail or Zephyr.
