Job Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and optimize real-time audio and video streaming modules based on WebRTC.
- Deeply understand and enhance the WebRTC protocol stack to suit specific business scenarios.
- Optimize media transmission quality, including adaptive bitrate (ABR), packet loss recovery (NACK/FEC),
and jitter buffer handling.
- Work on video/audio encoding (e.g., VP8, VP9, H.264) and network transmission
(UDP/TCP, NAT traversal, ICE/STUN/TURN) optimizations.
- Collaborate closely with front-end and mobile teams to deliver end-to-end low-latency
audio/video experiences.
- Solve cross-platform WebRTC issues and performance challenges across Android, iOS, and Web platforms.
- Design and develop real-time media servers (e.g., SFU/MCU) to support multi-party video interaction and
large-scale concurrent sessions.
- Stay up to date with WebRTC community developments and apply the latest protocol
improvements and best practices.
- Implement secure transmission mechanisms, including SRTP, DTLS, and other privacy protection measures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in audio/video development, with at least 2 years focused on WebRTC.
- In-depth knowledge of WebRTC protocols (ICE, STUN, TURN, DTLS, SRTP, RTP/RTCP).
- Proficiency in video encoding technologies (VP8, VP9, H.264) and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of network transmission protocols and principles
(UDP, TCP, NAT traversal, QoS optimization).
- Solid C++ programming skills; experience working with WebRTC Native APIs is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with SFU architecture (e.g., Janus, mediasoup, ion-sfu) or MCU solutions is preferred.
- Understanding of server-side media forwarding, transcoding, stream mixing, and recording technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills for real-time media applications.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in crossfunctional teams.
