Job Description:
Job Summary:
The CCTV and Internet Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems and internet connectivity within residential and commercial properties. They will ensure the proper functioning of surveillance cameras, networking equipment, and related software to provide reliable security monitoring and internet access to clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems including cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and associated cabling.
2. Mount and position cameras strategically to achieve optimal coverage and surveillance objectives.
3. Set up and configure networking equipment such as routers, switches, access points, and modems to establish internet connectivity.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CCTV cameras, recording devices, and networking infrastructure.
5. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure CCTV systems and internet connections are operating efficiently.
6. Diagnose and repair faults in CCTV hardware, software, and network components.
7. Collaborate with clients to understand their security and internet requirements, providing recommendations and solutions accordingly.
8. Test and commission newly installed CCTV systems and internet connections to ensure they meet quality standards and client specifications.
9. Document installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in CCTV and networking to enhance service delivery.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a CCTV technician or a similar role with expertise in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting surveillance systems.
2. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting networking equipment such as routers, switches, and access points.
3. Strong understanding of IP networking protocols and concepts. Familiarity with CCTV software and video management systems.
4. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Physical ability to climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work in confined spaces. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
7. Certification in CCTV installation and networking (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) is a plus.
